Best Android Games of the Week: Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO Bionicle
A brand new year has started and we’re continuing our “Best Android Games” series for all users who love to use their smartphones and tablets in order to satisfy their gaming needs. Check all the titles below and I’m sure that you will find a brand new Android title to play for hours uninterrupted.
Most titles below are free of any in-app purchases, so you won’t have to worry about using in-game currency in order to get your hands on better gear and any other special items. If you can think of other important games that were launched recently, then feel free to post them at the end of this article.

Tales from the Borderlands – $4.99

Tales from the Borderlands
Borderlands is one of the most popular SF video games released for PC. Now, TellTale Games has decided to adapt some stories from the original series and release them as Tales from the Borderlands on Android.
In Tales from the Borderlands you will be placed in a violent Sci-Fi western universe and you will control several new characters that are somewhat linked with the main protagonist from the Borderlands and Borderlands 2 PC and console games. You will play as Rhys and Fiona and the whole story takes place on Pandora.
Install the game from Google’s Play Store here by paying $4.99 for Episode 1. You can install this game on all the Android 2.3.3 and later OS versions. The rest of the four remaining episodes are sold at the same price, but you can choose to pay $15 for the Season Pass and save 20% from the full price.

LEGO Bionicle – FREE

LEGO Bionicle
The LEGO Group has launched the Bionicle video game on Android devices. It is mostly kids-oriented, as your young ones can play as one of the six Toa action figure building blocs and your objective is to collect masks.
LEGO Bionicle can be installed on all the Android 4.0.3 and newer OS versions from Google Play Store here. There are no in-app purchases in this release.

SXPD The Comicbook Game Hybrid – $1.99

SXPD The Comicbook Game Hybrid
This title has been ported from Nintendo Wii for Android devices. The story in this video game is set in America 52nd state where the control is taken by the richest man and the population is free to do whatever it wants as long as their taxes are paid in time. SXPD (or sexy police department) uses graphics that are resembling Sin City and in this game you will have to read the comic book pages and then the action will start to unfold.
SXPD The Comicbook Game Hybrid is available for Android 4.1 and later OS versions from here. The games has to be purchased by paying $1.99, but you won’t game to worry about any extra in-app purchases.

Specular – FREE

Specular
TINT Games’ Specular arcade shooter is based on Waves and if you’re a fan of this types of games, then you should give it a try since it is free to play with a beautiful score. You will fight eight different enemies, but you can use up to 11 power-ups in order to defeat them. Choose from Static and Dynamic controls to see which configuration suits you best.
