This year will possibly be one of the most important ones when it comes to Android tablets, as all the big players in this market are expected to launch numerous new devices that will impress all Android enthusiasts. Up until the first new Android tablets are released you should take a look at some of the best models that are already available for purchase.

All tablets below are listed by brand and by size in descending order. Check the small reviews below, follow the Amazon links provided under each tablet section and then decide for yourself if you’re going to buy a brand new Android tablet. Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2

Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is one of the biggest Android devices ever released by Samsung and it is currently available for purchase from Amazon. Note that we’ve started with this model as it is the most expensive and we’ve wanted to get that out of our way before continuing to other tablets with reasonable prices.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 tablet features a very large Super Clear LCD screen measuring 12.2 inches with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, S Pen Stylus, it packs a 1.9 GHz Exynos 5 CPU, GB RAM, 9500 mAh battery power, 8MP rear camera, it is available in both 32GB and 64GB variants, it supports adding an extra microSD card with up t 64GB storage. The Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system is its default OS, but it will surely get Android 5.0 Upgrade sometime this year. Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 is the same tablet as the one above, but it doesn’t have an S Pen Stylus. The resolution is set at 2560 x 1600 pixels, it packs the 1.9GHz Exynos 5 Octa-core CPU, 3GB RAM, 9500 mAh battery, 32GB / 64GB internal storage variants, Android 4.4.4 KitKat and an 8 MP rear-facing camera. Currently you can purchase this device from Amazon, but you will be able to get your hands only on the 32GB model, as the 64GB stock hasn’t been live for some time.

Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 comes in White and Black variants and you can purchase one from Amazon here. The price is set at $497.99.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5  was launched more than six months ago with a Super AMOLED screen that measures 10.5 inches and its resolution is set at 2560 x 1600 resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon 800 CPU for the LTE model and an Exynos 5 Octa 5420 for the GSM model. All the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 models are packing 3GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB internal storage. You can expand its storage with an external microSD card that goes up to 128GB.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1

The 10.1-inch model of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro is a smaller variant of the 12.2-inch model listed several line above. It comes with the 1.9 GHz Exynos 8-core CPU, 2GB RAM, support for external microSD, 16GB internal storage, 8220 mAh battery power. The screen resolution is set at 2560 x 1600 pixels with a 299 pixel density.

It currently sports Android 4.4 and it should soon receive an official upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop. You can buy one of these tablets from Amazon starting with $399.99 here.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition

This is a similar device as the one listed above only that this one comes with an S Pen and the S Software applications. It runs on Android 4.4 and it will be upgrade to Android 5.0 in the following months.

Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition packs the Snapdragon 800 Qualcomm Chipset with the 2.3GHz Krait 400 Quad-core CPU for the LTE model, while the 3G variant features the quad-core 1.9GHz Cortex A15 + 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 tablet is running the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS and it will be surely upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop later this year. This is not a premium-range tablet and that’s why you will find it much cheaper than the other Samsung tablets listed above.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4

The Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 device is a great device that’s not too big, not too small and it packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Chipset with the Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB internal storage space, support for adding an external microSD card that measures up to 64GB in size. This tablet runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and it will get Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade in the following months.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 tablet is a great tablet as it comes with a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 chipset with a 2.3 GHz Krait 400 Quad-core CPU for the S800 model, while the Exynos 5420 variant is powered by a Quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 + quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 CPU. Other features: 3GB RAM, 8MP rear-facing camera, 8.4 inch Super AMOLED display, 1600 X 2560 pixel resolution, 4900 mAh battery, Adreno 330 GPU for the S800 model and Mali-T628MP6 for Exynos 5420 GPU variants.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS will not be the final operating system that you will get on this tablet, as Samsung is already planning on launching Android 5.0 Lollipop for it some time this year. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0

Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 tablet is a smaller variant of the model presented above and it is designed for low-end Android users. It doesn’t cost more than two hundred dollars and you should be able to get one right now from Amazon.

LG G Pad 8.3

The LG G Pad 8.3 is a great gadget that is destined for users that are looking to buy a reliable Android tablet in order to read books, browse websites just like they would do using a desktop PC / laptop, listen to music or watch movies. It isn’t the most powerful tablet out there, but it features great specs and it provides a reliable alternative for all the Samsung tablets listed above.

LG G Pad packs  an 8.3-inch IPS LCD display, quad-core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 chipset, 2GB RAM, a 5MP rear-facing camera, 16GB internal storage and support for adding an extra 64GB via external microSD card slot, 4600 mAh battery, Adreno 320 GPU, and it runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The G Pad 8.3 tablet hasn’t been confirmed to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. You can purchase this tablet from Amazon here for only $227.49.

Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet

Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet was launched almost an year ago and it is a pretty strong player in the Android tablet market. It packs a 10.1 inch TFT capacitive display, 1200 x 1920 screen resolution, quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, Adreno 330 GPU, 16GB internal storage, support for adding an extra 64GB external microSD card, 3GB RAM, 8.1MP rear camera, and it sports Android 4.4.2 KiKat. Sony has already announced that the Xperia Z2 Tablet will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop some time in the near future.

Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact

The Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact has been just released several months ago and it is currently one of the thinnest Android devices available for purchase. It comes with an 8-inch TFT LCD capacitive display, 1200 x 1920 screen resolution, shatter proof glass just like the Xperia Z2 tablet, Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact’s internal storage space is fixed at 16GB, but you add 128GB extra storage via microSD cards. Since this device has just been released, then we should soon see Sony updating it with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop build. Nexus 9

The Nexus 9 tablet build by HTC and Google was the first device that was launched with the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Before the end of this month arrives you will see the Nexus 9 Amazon price return to its original $399.99 value.

Nexus 9 tablet is powered by the Nvidia Tegra K1 2.3GHz Denver CPU, 2GB RAM and it comes in two variants: 16GB internal storage for the Wi-Fi variant and 32GB for the LTE model. Nexus 7 2013

The Google Nexus 7 Wi-Fi tablet was one of the first Android devices that has received Android 5.0 Lollipop OS upgrade when this was released several months ago. Amazon Fire HDX 8.9 (2014)

Amazon has released a brand new variant of the original Kindle HDX tablet that is named Amazon Fire HDC 8.9 2014 Edition. It comes with an 8.9 inch IPS LCD screen, 2560 x 1600 resolution, 2.5GHz Snapdragon 805 CPU, 2GB RAM and it is available with three different internal storage versions: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

Amazon Fire HD 7 (2014)

Fire HD 7 by Amazon was released at the same time as the Fire HDX 8.9 2014 device and it comes with a seven inches wide IPS LCD screen, 800 x 1280 resolution, 8GB and 16GB internal storage space, 1GB RAM, a quad-core CPU and a modified Android 4.4 KitKat OS with the Fire OS 4 Sangria term as its official title.

Since we’ve listed Amazon’s new tablets with 8.9 and 7 inches wide screens, we’ve decided that the 6 inches wide model should also be mentioned in our post. So, the Amazon Fire HD 6 tablet is now live for purchase from Amazon starting with $99. The Amazon Fire HD 6 device packs the same specs as the Fire HD 7 only that it is smaller in size. Amazon Fire HD Kids Edition 6-Inch and 7-Inch
