Samsung Galaxy S7 to feature Apple’s 3D Touch like display, fast charging and improved camera
Samsung’s Galaxy S7 is still some time away but there is no dearth of leaks and rumors. The latest one doing the rounds suggest the next Samsung flagship will come with pressure sensitive display just like Apple’s 3D Touch display and a new high speed charging port.
The latest set of information comes via the Wall Street Journal, which also reveals Samsung is planning to include a retina scanner in some of the variants of the Galaxy S7. According to the report, Samsung is also looking to improve camera capabilities in the next flagship. The improved camera is likely to perform better in low-light and the lens will be relatively flatter on the back, as compared to the current flagship Galaxy S6 that has a slight bump.
While upgradation in camera capability and overall performance have long been predicted, the possibility of a pressure sensitive display doesn’t come as a surprise considering component manufacturers are already lining up with solutions for such technology.
Earlier, Huawei tried to experiment with something similar with what it calls Force Touch, which launched with the Mate S. It remains to be seen how innovative or different Samsung’s pressure sensitive display will be from the one on the new iPhones.
Another interesting addition is the fast charging technology. According to the WSJ, the USB Type-C port on the Galaxy S7 will “allow for a full day’s charge in under 30 minutes.”
Samsung is likely to launch its latest flagship Galaxy S7 and its other variant Galaxy S7 Edge in March next year. With official release date approaching closer, we expect more information about the S7 to emerge online. Stay tuned for more updates. Meanwhile, check out our Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors roundup
