Last week, Netflix officially debuted in India long with 130 other countries. However, a lot of users have been vocal about the fact that93% of US titles are not available on Netflix in India. Now, while the video on demand service has tons of content available, some of it can’t be discovered easily due to the site’s algorithms. However, some secret codes could unlock hidden content on Netflix.

Netflix’s algorithm is designed to predict and show you content that it thinks you would like to watch. Due to this, a lot of users spend more time searching for content rather than watching it. This is when Netflix secret codes can be quite helpful. It is a small hack that lets you find content based on specific categories.

A Netflix fan site called whatsonnetflix has shared a list of codes that reveal an array of categories that are hidden by the content provider. To explore the list, all you need to do is enter a simple URL: http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/INSERTNUMBER

Now, in the above URL, replace ‘insertnumber’ with the corresponding code required for the genre. For instance, code for ‘Classic Action & Adventure’ is 46576. So, after replacing the URL will look like http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/46576

What’s On Netflix has tons of categories, right from Horror Movies to Anime Fantasy, Adventure, Classic Movies, Comedies and Drama among others. Check out the full list of genres and corresponding codes here. However, this hack will only work if you are using Netflix on a browser and can’t be used on the Netflix app. Still, it is a great way to discover hidden content and once you find something you are interested to watch, you can simply type the title on the app’s search bar and get it.

Netflix is offering one-month free trial to the new users, after which they will have subscribe to continue using the service. There are three monthly subscription plans priced at Rs 500, Rs 650 and Rs 800, offering unlimited SD content, HD content and UHD content, respectively. Users can stream the videos on their TV, smartphone, tablet or a PC.
