The Android 4.4.4 update for Droid Ultra is now being pushed to users. Motorola has begun the soak tests for the aforementioned device, therefore the selected users are asked whether they are willing to participate.
As you may know, the Dorid Ultra is currently rocking Android 4.4.2, but the folks at Motorola announced the device will be skipping Android 4.4.3 and get upgraded directly to Android 4.4.4.
Because most of the KitKat-specific upgrades such as transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, cloud printing, new Location menu, immersive mode, color emoj support, or full screen album and movie art in the lockscreen have been patched in the previous updates for Droid Ultra, the Droid Ultra Android 4.4.4 update arrives to fix bugs, improve camera quality, to add contactless payments with Isis Wallet, and to enhance Visual Voicemail. You should also notice the new Phone Dialer with card-based interface and a new color scheme for the dialer itself, and a revised interface People app.
The Android 4.4.4 update for Droid Ultra is currently rolled out for the users that singed-up for Motorola’s Feedback Network. The OTA file has a size of 285 MB, therefore it’s recommended to download the update using a WiFi connection to avoid unwanted data charges.
Once your Droid Ultra becomes eligible to receive the Android 4.4.4 OTA update you should be able to see a system update message in the notification bar. Tap on it, choose download, then select install after the download is completed. If the system update notification failed to appear, you should also perform a manual check under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.
In case you are not signed up for the Feedback Network, the new Android 4.4.4 should become available for your Droid Ultra in a few days after the soak tests are over.
