After the Moto X Android 4.4.4 soak tests begun last Friday, Verizon announced today that the the new firmware update is now being rolled out for all their users.
The Moto X Android 4.4.4 update has software version 210.12.41.falcon_cdma.Verizon.en.US and, as usual, it’s being rolled out in phases. This means that the ETA is not the same for everybody and that some of you might have to wait a couple of days until the new firmware hits their terminals.
Because all the KitKat-specific goodies such as transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, immersive mode, color emoji support, full screen album and movie art, new Location menu or cloud printing were patched in the Android 4.4 and 4.4.2 updates for Moto X, the new software only brings minor improvements. The Moto X Android 4.4.4 update comes with improved camera picture quality, improved photos in fluorescent lighting, enhanced dynamic range, and the ability to pause video recording, along with the 4.4.3-specific Phone Dialer with card-based interface and a new color scheme for the dialer itself.
As you may know, once your Moto X will become eligible to receive the new firmware update, you should be able to see a system update message in the notifications bar. Tap on it then follow the on-screen instructions. If the system update notification failed to appear, you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.
Because the Moto X Android 4.4.4 OTA update might have a size of over 200 MB, we recommend you to download the update file using a stable WiFi connection in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
