Android Device Manager is a pretty handy tool if you happened to have lost or misplaced your phone or tablet, allowing you to locate it. Google is now rolling out an update for Android Device Manager which brings the app to version 1.3.8. Even though we’re not dealing with a major update, v1.3.8 introduces a couple of helpful options should you misplace your smartphone.
After you update your Android Device Manager app to version 1.3.8 you will be able to notice new text at the bottom of the remote locking screen. Besides the usual options that allow you to create a new lock screen password or add a message, you will also be able to add a phone number at which you can be reached. Of course, only if the person who finds the device is willing to do it. When the founder powers on the device, he will be welcomed by a screen displaying your message and an option to call the number of your choice.
According to the official changelog for Android Device Manager 1.3.8, besides the new “call me back” option, you will also be able to enjoy bug fixes and performance improvements. You will be able to set the call back number the Android Device Manager app from another Android device, or from the web client.
