Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook to Be Announced August 20

It looks like the folks at Samsung will be very busy in the next few weeks. Not only they will host the Unpacked Event on September 3rd (where the Galaxy Note 4 is expected to see the light of day, along with metal-made Galaxy Alpha and a Google Glass competitor called Galaxy VR), but they will also co-host an event with Barnes & Noble on August 20.

If the rumors prove true, the event co-hosted by Samsung and Barnes & Noble will be about the launch of the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. The new tablet will be a hybrid between Galaxy Tab 4′s hardware and Barnes & Noble’s Nook software. The event will reportedly take place at the Barnes & Noble Union Square, New York location.

I remind you that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook was officially introduced to the public early June and it was expected to hit the market in August. Even though the price of the device was not revealed, early reports have suggested that it will have a price tag of around $200. Chances are that the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook will be made available for purchase in the day of the Samsung and Barnes & Noble event, August 20.

As I was mentioning above, Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook shares its hardware platform with the standard Galaxy Tab 4. Tab 4 Nook features a 7-inch TFT display with 800 x 1280 resolution and a pixel density of 216 ppi, while being underpinned by a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor.

Galaxy Tab 4 and Tab 4 Nook, as well, also arrives with 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB storage, microSD slot, 3.15 MP primary camera with 720p video recording support, 1.3 MP secondary shooter, and a Li-Po 4,000 mAh battery. The connectivity features of the tablet include WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, IR blaster, and microUSB 2.0.
