Google is currently rolling out a brand new Android L Preview Build for the their Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi devices. If you’re currently sporting the previous build of it or you’ve never tried the Android L system images, then you can do it right now and get a sneak peek at Google’s future OS release.
This Android L preview build has the firmware version set to LPV81C, the previous one was the LPV79. With this new release there aren’t too many changes added, only a couple of fixes and support for Google Fit API. If you install this new build on your Google Nexus 5 or Google Nexus 7 and you find some other changes, then feel free to post in the comments.
These new Android L Preview LPV81C can be downloaded from Google Developers web page here. In order to complete the installation you should read the info listed at the developers page and make sure that you know what you’re doing. Remember that the Android L builds are still in their early stages, so you might find some major bugs and errors while testing them. So, install the new preview firmwares at your own risk.
The Google Nexus 5 and Google Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi devices are the only devices currently supporting this Android L Preview update. However, note that by flashing this new release you might also be forced to apply a full wipe of your device in case you’re getting the missing button or busted notification bug after the Android L Preview is installed.
The LPV81C Android L update doesn’t feature any details about the number that Google might assign for their future Android OS update. So, we are still waiting for that announcement to be made and see if it will be Android 5.0. Flash these builds, test their new features and tell us how’s your Google Nexus 5 “hammerhead” / Google Nexus 7 Wi-Fi 2013 ‘razor’ performing with the new Android L Preview ROM.
