Samsung Galaxy Alpha Specs Revealed by New Leak

Earlier today we brought you some leaked photos of the yet-unannounced Galaxy Note 4. Now we are back with leaks of a another unannounced Samsung terminal, the Galaxy Alpha. Even though the two smartphones seem to have a similar design with metal-made frame and faux-leather rear cover, they are quite different when it comes to technical specifications.

A new photo uploaded online by Brazilian website TechMundo is revealing, or rather confirming, most of the technical specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. The leaked photo that talks Galaxy Alpha hardware looks like an internal slide, therefore the specs listed there should be pretty accurate. As you may know, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha technical specifications made the headlines over the past couple of months, but it’s nice to have further confirmation for most of the rumors and reports.

The leaked Samsung slide reveals that the Galaxy Alpha will indeed feature an octo-core processor (most likely an Exynos unit), 12 MP primary camera, 2.1 MP secondary shooter, 32 GB of native storage, and 2 GB of RAM. It also mentions that the Galaxy Alpha won’t have microSD card support, but that it will pack a fingerprint sensor, and 1,860 mAh battery. It says that it runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and that it has support for Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G LTE. It’s interesting though that the resolution listed for the 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED screen is 1080 x 720, while it’s supposed to say 1280 x 720.

The publication also revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will debut at a price of R$2,399 on the Brazilian market and that a 64 GB model will be available, too. As you may know, the Galaxy Alpha is expected to debut later this month or early September during Samsung’s Unpacked event held at IFA Berlin. Anyway, the device is definitely Samsung’s response to the rumored 4.7-inch iPhone 6 so the battle should be pretty interesting this year.
