Samsung Galaxy Alpha Specs

Samsung has launched today the Galaxy Alpha smartphone, a device that’s made of metal with a premium design. Those of you who are currently looking for a cool device can stop searching as the Galaxy Alpha is all about looks and less about performance.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha comes with a a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED 1280 x 720 screen, it is powered by an Octa-core Exynos chipset consisting of a Quad 1.8 GHz and another Quad 1.3 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM and it can hold up to 32GB internal storage, it doesn’t pack any external microSD slot. The hardware specs for this device aren’t that great, but it should offer enough power for a basic Android user.

The default OS is the Android 4.4.4 KitKat and it will most probably be updated to Android L by the end of this year. Other specs of the Galaxy Alpha are as following: LTE-A support, 1860 mAh battery, 12MP rear-facing camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0. The camera software offers users support for HDR, Selective Focus, Panorama, Beauty Face, and others more.

The Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS has the TouchWiz UI and it packs Ultra Power Saving Mode, Quick Connect, Download Booster and Private Mode software features. The device is filled with sensors such as the one for proximity, gesture, light, hall, gyro, accelerometer and geomagnetic.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha is made of metal and it is only 6.7mm thick and it only weighs 115g, It should arrive in September worldwide in more than 150 countries, it will be available in silver, black, gold, white and blue. The official pricing hasn’t been confirmed, but it should roam somewhere around $600 off-contract or somewhere around $100 – $200 with contract.
