Sony Xperia Z3 probably one of the most anticipated smartphones of the second half of the year. Even though there were a lot of Xperia Z3 leaks lately, we are happy to see that more details of the new flagship smartphones are hitting the web. The handset got certified by TENNA in China so many of its technical specifications surfaced. It looks like the Japanese phone maker doesn’t want to join the hardware specs race as the Xperia Z3 has similar hardware with Z2.
Previous rumors have indicated that the Sony Xperia Z3 is known internally as “L55t,” a codename that checks out with the one listed by TENNA. The Sony L55t is compatible with TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE networks, while the L55u model works with WCDMA and TD-LTE networks. Just like it was previously rumored, the Sony Xperia Z3 has a quad-core 2.5 GHz processor, a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display, and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The technical specifications sheet also includes 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, Bluetooth, FM Radio, WiFi and GPS. The handset arrives shares Xperia Z2′s 20.7 MP primary shooter, while sporting a 2 MP user facing camera. The same leak also reveals that the processing tasks will be handled by a Qualcomm MSM8974AC SoC paired with an Adreno 330 GPU. Xperia Z3 is 146.5 mm tall, 72.4 mm wide, and only 7.35 mm thin.
As you probably noticed already, the technical specifications of the Xperia Z3 are almost identical to the ones of the Xperia Z2, of course, except for the fast CPU. Anyway, the new flagship will arrive with a slightly revised design, being both thinner and lighter than its predecessor. Even though the TENNA listing doesn’t mention anything about IP ratings, we are sure that, just like the Z2, Xperia Z3 will be protected with IP55/IP58. Anyway, you shouldn’t rule out the possibility that Z3 might come with IP65/IP68 protection, as Sony integrated it in the new Xperia M2 Aqua.
In case you don’t know it already, I remind you that Sony will hold a press event on September 3rd at IFA 2014. We are sure that the new Xperia Z3 will see the light of day during the said event.
