Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update Released for T-Mobile Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE 2014 Edition

The official Android 4.4.4 KitKat update is now live for the T-Mobile LTE version of the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Samsung and T-Mobile are releasing the new KitKat firmware files in phases, so not all users will get the new OS version today.

The Android 4.4.4 build number P607TUVUANI1 will probably be the final KitKat firmware released for the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014, as Samsung will now focus on integrating the new Android 5.0 Lollipop for all their 2014 devices. Lollipop 5.0 released date for Samsung devices hasn’t been confirmed, but it should be here before Spring 2015.

The LTE version of T-Mobile Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition is the first to receive this brand new update, which means that the Wi-Fi models are too far behind. The new Android 4.4.4 build comes four months after the initial release of Android 4.4.2 KitKat for this device. There is no official changelog posted, but you can bet that this new firmware adds security patches and fixes various bugs. The update news has been posted on Samsung’s support web page.

Note that the firmware update to 4.4.4 KitKat will be delivers via OTA (over-the-air) and since it is being delivered in phases, then you should wait until it arrives on your device instead of looking for alternative ways to get it installed. You can also choose to go to Settings> General> About Device and hit the Software Update menu to see if there are any files available for download.

When the new update arrives on your device you should simply confirm the download and then wait until your tablet completes the installation automatically. The install process shouldn’t take too long until it flashes all the new firmware files. Hit up the comments section after you complete the update of your device and tell if you’ve found any major changes seeing that Samsung and T-Mobile didn’t put any changelog on their support page.
