HTC One M7 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Roll Out Set for January 2015

The official Android 5.0 Lollipop timetable release date has been confirmed by HTC for all the supported devices. The first models to receive Lollipop treatment will be Google Play Edition of the One M7 (2013) and M8 (2014) models, while their original variants will get Android 5.0 starting with January – February 2015.

Android 5.0 Lollipop has been announced by Google last week an,d it will be first released with the brand new Motorola / Google Nexus 6 smartphone and HTC / Google Nexus 9 tablet. These devices will be released in the first week of November with the brand new OS version. After that Google will start to push the OTA Updates of Android 5.0 for Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10 models before the end of next month.

HTC One M7 GPE edition will probably be updated with Android 5.0 after all the Nexus devices Lollipop updates have been installed, so it should be happening late November or early December. After all the Google Play Editions of HTC One models will be updated with the new OS and 2015 arrives we should be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop rolled out for the original HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 Sense-based smartphones.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop roll out for One M7 and One M8 original HTC models is being delayed because HTC will have to integrate all the new features and themes for their HTC Sense interface, and that takes time before testing will prove be 100% successful. After the Android 5.0 Update is made available for the One models, the roll out will continue and, it will then be released in January -March time frame for the following HTC models: Desire EYE, One M8 Dual SIM, One M7 Dual SIM, One E8, One E8 Dual SIM and Butterfly 2. In March – April Android 5.0 Lollipop will be released for HTC One Mini 2 and Desire 816, while the HTC One Max, One Mini and Butterfly S should be getting Lollipop treatment before the end of May 2015.
