Google previewed Android 5.0 Lollipop in June, when the new Android version was known as Android L. Back then, HTC announced they will be rolling out the new update for One M7 and One M8 within 90 days after Google makes the final version available. Now, more details about HTC’s Android 5.0 Lollipop plans surfaced online.

The report comes from LlabTooFeR, a reliable source when it comes to reports about HTC devices. According to him, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC Desire Eye, One M8 Dual SIM, One M7 Dual SIM, One E8, One E8 Dual SIM, and Butterfly 2 will be released by the Taiwanese company in January – March time frame.

Just like everybody anticipated, One M7 and One M8 Google Play Edition will be the first to get updated to Lollipop, as they will reportedly get the new Android version sometime in November – December. As promised, HTC will deliver the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for One M7 and One M8 within 90 days after the official debut, in January – February 2015.

LlabTooFeR also claims that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will also bring the Eye Experience features on some of HTC’s older devices. As you may know, the Eye Experience software suite debuted on the company’s slefie-centric HTC Desire Eye, and it includes camera-focused features like Face Tracking, Split Capture, Face Fusion, Voice Selfie, Live Makeup, or Photo Booth. It seems though “not all features will be available on old devices.”

Besides the aforementioned Eye Experience features, expect the Android 5.0 update for HTC Desire Eye, One M8 Dual SIM, One M7 Dual SIM, One E8, One E8 Dual SIM, and Butterfly 2 to arrive with Lollipop-specific goodies. After the update hits your device you will be able to enjoy, the new Material Design UI, battery saver mode, a redesigned notifications panel, new recents screen, dynamic status bar, lock screen notifications, revamped Quick Settings, Android Runtime (ART), native support for 64-bit processors, and more.
