Just like its predecessor, the new Moto X 2014 brings an interesting hardware platform and an almost-stock Android experience. Motorola introduce their flagship smartphone for 2014 early-September and it’s already available for purchase at AT&T and Verizon. From now on you will be able to get the 2nd gen Moto X from US Cellular, too.
US Cellular is selling the black plastic Moto X model at a price of $99.99 after you agree to sign a two-year contract with them. The off-contract price of the same Moto X model has been set at $480. US Cellular announced that, later this month, they will be carrying the back leather and bamboo models, too. Anyway, these two models will be $50 more.
For some reason, neither T-Mobile nor Sprint won’t carry the Moto X 2014. This makes US Cellular the third carrier in the country to have the device in their portfolio. As for Moto Maker customizations trough US Cellular, they said there are no plans to support them at this time.
I remind you that Moto X 2014 boasts about a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 resolution, 424 ppi pixel density, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, while being underpinned by a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset based on four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU. Motorola’s latest flagship also arrives with 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of native storage, and a 2,300 mAh battery. It has a 13 MP primary camera with dual-LED flash and 4K video recording support, 2 MP user-facing camera with 1080p video capture, and all the connectivity features worthy of a modern smartphone including HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and microUSB 2.0. The terminal runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box and Motorola promised they will upgrade it to Android L.
