Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.4 Update to Arrive in November, Shows Leaked Document

We have great news for the Galaxy Note 2 owners. According to a recently leaked Samsung document, the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.4 update will be rolled out sometime in November.

The aforementioned leaked document reveals that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4.4 update is now pending and that it’s expected to roll out sometime next month. It also informs that the new firmware will be made available for download for both the Galaxy Note 2 (N7100) and Galaxy Note 2 LTE (N7105) variants. Of course, the unlocked Note 2 models will be the first to get the new update, as carriers usually delay the launch of new firmwares to win some time to test them on their own networks.

Unfortunately, the leaked document doesn’t reveal any details about the changes brought by the Android 4.4.4 update for Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Anyway, we believe that we will be dealing with a minor update. The new firmware should bring security and performance improvements, bug fixes, and minor tweaks to Samsung’s native apps.

You probably know that once your Galaxy Note 2 becomes eligible to receive the new Android 4.4.4 OTA update you would be able to see a system update message in the notifications bar. You know the drill: tap on it, choose “Download now,” wait until the download is complete, then select “Install now.” Your phone should reboot and install the new firmware. In case the system update notification failed to appear you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > More > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates. Alternatively, you can grab the USB cable, connect your Note 2 to the PC, and check for the update via KIES.

There’s no mention of the size of the new update, either. Because it might exceed 300 MB, it’s recommended to download the update file using a stable WiFi network to avoid unwanted data charges.
