Next month should the one when the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Duos and International variants will receive the latest KitKat build update, that’s according to a leaked timetable posted on XDA forums. This is is no way official news, so you should take it with a pinch of salt, but we cannot hide our hopes that it will be proved to be true.
The Android 4.4.4 KitKat Upgrade for Galaxy S4 Mini devices like the Duos GT – I9192 and International S4 Mini GT – I9190 should bring only some security patches and bug fixes. We can’t say if there will be any other extra features added, but it will most probably be the final KitKat build released for these models, as Google is already preparing to launch Android 5.0 L upgrade by the end of October.
After Google finishes the Android 5.0 L roll out for all of their Nexus devices and Samsung starts working on it, then you can expect the new ROM to be made available in early 2015 for your Galaxy device. We can’t confirm if the
Galaxy S4 Mini will get Android 5.0 L, but we will learn more about it in the following days after its official roll out.
The Galaxy S4 Mini models aren’t the only Samsung devices that are getting the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, as the leaked document from Samsung also states that the Galaxy S5 and Note 3 will get the update by the end of this month. Also, the original Galaxy S4 and Note 2 will get the new Android 4.4.4 update at the same time as the Galaxy S4 mini which is set for late November.
Currently the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Android 4.4.4 testing status is in its ‘pending’ phase and it will most probably enter the ‘Final Testing’ phase later this month. We certainly hope for all the Android 4.4.4 KitKat tests to be completed successfully and for all Galaxy devices to get the new KTU84P firmware files before the end of November.
