Sony Xperia Z3 to Debut Through Canadian Carriers October 31st

Sony officially announce they will be holding a press event in New York City on October 9th. Even though the Japanese company didn’t reveal what the even is about, it is believed that they will be discussing the company’s plans to bring the Xperia Z3 family in the US to other carriers than T-Mobile. In the meantime, Sony revealed they will be bringing their new Xperia Z3 flagship to most Canadian carriers.

According to the folks at MobileSyrup, the Sony Xperia Z3 will debut at Bell, MTS, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, and Wind Mobile on October 31st. The new device will also debut through Sony Stores at the same date. This is the first time since the launch of Xperia T back in 2012 when Sony brings their flagship smartphone to so many Canadian carriers. Maybe this is a hint that the Japan-based phone maker is planning a more aggressive strategy for the North American market.

Unfortunately, Sony failed to reveal the pricing of the Xperia Z3, though they mentioned that it will be offered in white, black, and copper color options. They didn’t mention anything about the Xperia Z3 Compact, either. Hopefully, Z3’s smaller brother will also debut on the Canadian market.

I remind you that Sony’s water and dust proof Xperia Z3 arrives with a 5.2-inch IPS LCD screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution, while being underpinned by a Snapdragon 801 SoC with quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU, paired with 3 GB of RAM. The smartphone also comes with 16 or 32 GB of native storage, microSD slot (up to 128 GB supported), and all the connectivity features worthy of a modern smartphone including WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, NFC, and microUSB 2.0. Z3 packs a 20.7 MP primary camera with 4K video recording support, 2.2 MP user-facing cam, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Sony’s custom skin on top of it.
