While everybody is still waiting for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 to officially roll out, the new Android version has been unofficially ported to the Nexus line-up. As you may know, the folks at Google have uploaded the Android 5.0 Lollipop source code for Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 to AOSP.

Several members of the XDA-Developers forums have used the Lollipop source code to port Android 5.0 on Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. It’s also worth mentioning that the new build is available for both Nexus 7 generations and that it’s only available for the WiFi-only variants of the two devices. You should also know that the ports are vanilla builds of Android 5.0 Lollipop AOSP and that, for the time being, you won’t be able to flash Gapps.Installing the unofficial Android 5.0 Lollipop port on your Nexus 7 or Nexus 10 require some advanced skills, therefore it’s best to wait for the official update to arrive if you have no idea what you’re doing.
