CM11 M12 Snapshot Update for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 Now Live

The CM11 M12 update for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 is now available for download. Even though Android 5.0 Lollipop is a thing now, the latest Cyanogenmod build is still based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Anyway, the team behind Cyanongenmod announced last week that the work for the Android 5.0 Lollipop-based CM12 has already begun and that the first nightlies will be released late this month or early next month.

Returning to the CM11 M12 update for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10, the new build is mostly about patching the POODLE vulnerability in SSLv3. Of course, the new update also arrives with fixes for the bugs reported by the users and spotted by the Cyanogenmod deam in the previous builds. The latest build is available for download on Cyanogenmod’s websitehere. If you are coming from a nightly build and want to update to CM11 M12, make sure that the nightly you are currently running is newer than November 3rd, or else you might encounter serious issues. The new builds are available for all the aforementioned Nexus devices, including Nexus 7 2012 WiFi (grouper), Nexus 7 2013 WiFi (flo), and Nexus 7 2013 4G (deb).

If you flashed custom ROMs before, then you shouldn’t have any troubles installing CM11 M12 on your Nexus device. You know the drill, after you have successfully unlocked the bootloader, gained root access, and installed a custom recovery, you will need to download CM11 M12 snapshot build for your device from Caynogen’s websitehere and grab the Android KitKat Gapps ZIP from here. Copy both files on your device, boot your device into recovery mode, go to ‘install zip from sdcard’, then go to ‘choose zip from sdcard’, navigate to the location where you copied CM11 M12 and Gapps, then flash both ZIP files like you would any other ZIP. Don’t forget about applying factory reset.
