CM12 Alpha Built Available for Galaxy Note N7000 and Moto G
Galaxy Note N7000 is among the devices that will no longer receive official Android updates. So, the OTA Android 5.0 Lollipop will not embrace the first version of Samsung Galaxy Note lineup. That’s why, for being able to test the latest Android platform on your own platform you will have to install a custom ROM firmware.
In that matter I have really good news for you. Actually for both Galaxy Note N7000 and first gen of Motorola Moto G users. Those of xda-developers are currently working on developing a stable version of CM12 Android 5.0 Lollipop software for the mentioned smartphones.
As we all know, CyanogenMod is the best custom ROM available out there. Currently, CM11 is based on stock Android KitKat and it is available for various Android powered smartphones and tablets. Now, the next update that will be provided by the CyanogenMod team will be CM 12, a new platform that will be powered by Lollipop firmware.
A ported version of this custom ROM is now in development stage and moreover a pre apha built of CM12 is already available for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and for the first model of Motorola Moto G. The ROMs can be anytime downloaded and flashed on the mentioned devices through a custom recovery image.
Do note that a pre alpha release means lots of bugs and other software related issues. Thus this CM12 OS is not for daily use – though, if you are an advanced Android user you can make a Nandroid backup first for testing Android 5.0 Lollipop right away on your Galaxy Note and Motorola Moto G.
Do note that for the flashing process you will need to have a rooted smartphone that is also installed with latest version of CWM or TWRP recovery. Anyway, if you need help on the installation process, don’t hesitate and contact us.
