Nexus 5 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update OTA ZIP Files Are Now Ready for Download
The Nexus 5 Android 5.0 Lollipop update is being pushed to users since yesterday. Because we are dealing with a gradual roll out, some of you haven’t received the new firmware on your devices yet. Fortunately, now you will be able to manually force the update to your terminal.
As I was mentioning above, the Nexus 5 Android 5.0 Lollipop update is being rolled out in phases, which means that some of you might not be able to download and install it right away. Once your phone becomes eligible to receive the new firmware you should be able to notice a system update message in the notifications bar. Tap on it, then follow the on-screen instructions. If the system update notification failed to appear, you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > About phone > System updates > Check now.
Anyway, if the manual check method doesn’t work you can fore the OTA update on your Nexus 5. First you will need to download the Nexus 5 Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA update ZIP from here, then adb side load it. I remind you that you must run an stock official firmware to be able to use the OTA ZIP file. If you have no idea what you’re doing, we recommend you to seek help in our tutorial on how to manually update Nexus 5 to Lollipop that will be posted on our website in the next few hours.
Also, you have the option to flash a factory image on your Nexus 5. Anyhow, this procedure will wipe all the data on your device so it’s entirely up to you. You can find a tutorial on how to ‘install Nexus 5 Android 5.0 Lollipop LRX21O factory image’ here.
