Moto G Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Soak Test Invites Are Being Sent out to Indian Users

The 1st gen Moto G Android 5.0 Lollipop update should start rolling out for over the next couple of days. How do we know that? Because Motorola is sending out soak test invites for the 2013 Moto G customers based in India.

As you may know, the members of the Motorola Feedback Network have the occasion to test new firmwares ahead of the global roll out. The soak tests allow Motorola to see how the new software behaves on a larger number of devices before it’s ready for prime time. This is exactly what happened with the Moto G Android 5.0 Lollipop update, as the Indian Moto G owners were invited to try out “an early preview of a new software release.”

If everything goes as planned, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Moto G 2013 should start rolling out for everybody else soon. We know from Motorola’s soak tests for previews software versions that the global release is usually issued a few days after the soak tests begin.

As usual, after the Moto G Android 5.0 Lollipop update is good to go, the new firmware will be pushed to users in phases. This means that some Moto G owners might have to wait longer than others before being able to download and install the new update. I remind you that once your terminal becomes eligible to receive the new OTA update, you should be able to notice a system update message in the notifications bar.
