Nexus 10 Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Update Is Rolling out, OTA ZIP Now Up for Grabs
Late last year, the folks at Google released the Android 5.0.2 update for Nexus 7 2012 WiFi. Even though it was believed that the Android 5.0.2 update will be released for other Nexus devices shorty after, the factory images forNexus 7 2013 WiFi and Nexus 10weren’t released until a few days ago.
We told you earlier today that theNexus 7 2013 Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update is being rolled out and now it’s time for the Nexus 10 to receive the same treatment. Users are starting to report that their Nexus 10 tablets are getting updated to the latest available Android firmware.
As you may know already, Android 5.0.2 isn’t a major update, so you shouldn’t expect any significant improvements other than bug fixes and slightly enhanced system performance. It’s also worth noting that the new update has build number LRX22C and that it’s about 8 MB in size.
As usual, the Nexus 10 Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update is being pushed to users in stages, which means that some of you will receive it faster than others. Once your tablet becomes eligible to get upgraded with the new firmware, you should be able to spot a system update message in the notifications bar. All you need to do is tap on it and follow the on-screen instructions. If the system update notification failed to appear, you would also want to check for the update manually under Settings > About device > System updates > Check now.
If the manual check returns no results, we are glad to announce you that the Nexus 10 Android 5.0.2 OTA ZIP file is now available for download. You will be able to grab it from here and use it to manually flash the new firmware on your device. Note that your Nexus 10 must run a stock Android 5.0.1 LRX22G for you to be able to install the new update using the ‘adb sideload’ command.
Are there any Nexus 10 owners reading this? Have you guys received the new OTA update or you had to flash it manually? Please let us know in comments. Also, don’t forget to check this article in the next few hours, when we will post a link to a detailed tutorial on how to manually flash Android 5.0.2 on Nexus 10.
