OnePlus 3 leaked photos reaffirm new design and a dedicated camera shutter button

The OnePlus 3 is expected to launch sometime at the end of second quarter this year, and it is said to be ‘drastically different from its predecessors’. We may have finally stumbled upon what the upcoming smartphone could look like, courtesy of a few leaked concept photos. These photos not only hint at different design, but also reveal a dedicated camera shutter button on the side.

The leaked photos, shared by GizmoChina, hint at quite a different design language. For one the device in the photos is much curvier than the OnePlus 2. The front seems to feature a curved glass with a rather large speaker grille just above the front camera. We can just about make out a physical button at the bottom, which could likely double up as a fingerprint scanner.

At the back is the camera lens along with dual-LED flash, while on the sides are the volume rocker, Alert Slider and what is said to be dedicated camera shutter button. At the bottom you can also see a USB-Type C port.

According to reports, the OnePlus 3 is likely to feature a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and a 20-megapixel rear camera.

Last month, co-founder Pete Lau revealed that OnePlus was planning on launching the flagship OnePlus 3 smartphone as early as the second quarter of this year. OnePlus may not have revealed a particular launch date yet, but reports claim that the OnePlus 3 is not likely to launch before June. Lau has also said that the OnePlus 3 will be “more expensive than the OnePlus 2.”
